The homes in Bixby Hill were constructed in the late 60′s and early 70′s. This 24 hour guard gated community, features homes ranging in size from 2,300 sq. ft. to 4,000 sq. ft. Many of the homes are at the larger end of this scale and have 3 car garages. Lot sizes are quite roomy with the average lot about 8,000 sq. ft. and occasional lots of 10,000 sq.ft. to 12,000 sq. ft. Bixby Hill is one of the few communities in Long Beach that offers homes in a guard gated community, while still having a spacious feel. Many of the newer gated communities such as Del Lago and Bay Harbor, have newer construction but not the consistently large lots of Bixby Hill, making it unique.
Bixby Hill is also home to the historic Bixby Ranch which provides tours, private events and public events for many to enjoy.
