Park Estates has gained a reputation as a serene, high-end neighborhood ever since it was developed. It is very appropriately named because the area is lushly landscaped with large lots and estate homes. All of the homes are custom, most were contracted in the 1950′s. Since they are custom homes, most have nice size rooms and considerable charm. The major factors that affect value in Park Estates are size, condition and lot size.
Park Estates offers a unique country feel that is not matched by any other neighborhood. The other area that has a similar feel, is Virginia Country Club area. However, Park Estates offers the benefit of a closer proximity to the beach. Bounded by Bellflower Boulevard on the east, Clark Avenue on the west, Atherton Street on the north and Pacific Coast Highway on the south, the community is protected by walls and landscaping much like a castle.
