Seal Beach is a charter city, which sits on the coast as the gateway to Orange County between the cities of Long Beach and Huntington Beach. Much of the Seal Beach old town neighborhood looks like a Southern California beach community straight out of the 1950s and 1960s, retaining its quaint, small town feel.

Between PCH and the beach are picturesque cottages on small lots, a short main street ending at the pier, colorful and unique boutiques, surf shops, and tasty restaurants.

The 5,256-acre Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station, and the 920-acre Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge, comprises 2/3 of the land within the 13.23 square-mile City.
