Second Street is the heart of the Belmont Shore community and it is busy with locals and tourists from dawn to the late evening. Lots of great restaurants and unique shops! Second Street is the busiest shopping street in Long Beach. And there always seems to be a party or something else fun going on nearby.

The neighborhood features many Spanish-style homes from the 1920s and 30’s, older houses which have been remodeled and expanded into contemporary styles, numerous large contemporary houses, and sections of multifamily apartment buildings.

The southern coast of Belmont Shore is a south-facing Pacific Ocean beach that lies just inside the Long Beach breakwater. The beach is popular for kite surfers, kayakers, and boaters.

This community also supports many annual events earning its distinctive charm: sand castle building contests, boat racing, “Stroll and Savor”–the summer-long ‘taste of Belmont Shore’, the Chocolate Festival, art walks, trick-or-treating, the Christmas parade, as well as the largest classic car show on the West Coast.
